Drawing its name from the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher--a bird species common to the Central Texas Hill Country--the WL-14 Scissortail is a special edition WL-14 that pays homage to the "Oriole" guitars produced by Kalamazoo between 1940 and 1942.

Built with maple back and sides and vintage-inspired X-bracing, the Scissortail brings excellent projection and focus to the flagship WL-14 series while retaining its woody, characteristic tone.

A natural finish coupled with distinctive tortoise-style binding sets this instrument apart from other WL-14 models.

This particular Scissortail is unique in that it does not have the Scissortail headstock decal.

All Waterloo models are handmade in Austin, Texas.
