Gibson RB-1 Original 5 String Banjo

 

>Serial # 9927-5, Circa 1935

>1 piece flange

>Nickel plated

>Maple construction w/ dark cordovan brown finish

>Original hardware with the addition of a pre-war presto   tailpiece, upper coordinator rod & Huber flathead tone ring

>Recent re-fret

>Original 2 tab tuners—it appears there were other tuners installed, then the 2 tabs put back on

 

Condition:  Finish is overall in good condition with some scratches & wear to resonator.  Neck has wear on back in the 2-5 and 15-17 fret area. 

 

This banjo was originally owned by Steve Huber & Bill Evans.

 

Price—$14,000 with newer hard shell case.
